ACAdemic writing

Writing is one of the most important skills necessary to excel in school and in the workplace. Whether the focus of your study or your future career is math and science oriented or liberal art oriented, good writers make good communicators and engaged, competent workers. It can take up to several years to become a good writer, a process made easier by instilling a fondness or passion for writing at early age. If your child needs help on their English essays or simply wants to get a head start in writing, I can definitely provide.

The foundation to good writing, especially to complex writing, is doing research, taking notes, analyzing information, making connections between information, and formulating outlines. These fundamentals are what I will focus on with my students. Many students, even native English speakers in elite private schools, lack some very basics of good writing. These issues sometimes go uncaught or uncontested by teachers for years. As your child’s 1-on-1 teacher, I will have the capacity to catch these issues when they first appear.
