Prep School Admissions

Less well-known than the college admissions process yet no less important is the prep school admissions process, or the process of applying to top high schools. If you have questions about how your child can make the best impression on prep school admissions officers, I have helped several middle school students get into prestigious prep schools in California and I’m here to help!

High school encompasses some of the formative years of your child’s life. Entering a top high school can greatly enhance the adolescent experience, something I can attest to as I attended the most prestigious high school in San Diego. Perfecting the prep school application is crucial to for your child to have the best chance of getting into highly sought-after schools. While prep school admissions is perhaps not as rigorous as college admissions, some of the principles are the same: high schools want to see inspiring young leaders who are growing ready to take the world’s future into their own hands.

To assist students with prep school admissions, I will employ some of the same methods used for college applications. I will help them get comfortable with expressing themselves on the page, writing fluidly and competently about their interests and accomplishments. I will aid them with their writing mechanics, showing them the ropes of the high school level writing they are about to graduate into. I will also help parents craft moving parent statements about their children, which illuminate their child’s personal strengths. And most importantly, I will allow kids to have fun with the process as they proudly show their best selves to the high schools that hopefully accept them.
